Thank You to Derek Carr
Please join us in expressing our gratitude to senior attorney Derek Carr for his many contributions over the past six years both to ChangeLab Solutions and to the field of public health. During his tenure at our organization, Derek has provided expertise in many areas, including commercial tobacco control, good governance, public health law authority, and the legal assessment project that produced the COVID-19 Policy Playbook. The topics addressed in his publications and invited presentations range from preemption to the legal, policy, and equity considerations associated with overdose prevention. Derek has been a valued member of our legal team, receiving national recognition from the Law Section of the American Public Health Association as winner of their Early Career Award for Excellence in Public Health Law in 2020.
