Opening Congregational Doors to Community Needs
Partnering with congregations to improve community health
As faith and community organizations place a greater emphasis on the health and wellness of their communities and neighborhoods, they are making their playgrounds, meeting rooms, parish halls, and classrooms available for the health needs of their neighbors.
This webinar, hosted by the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services highlights the work of Bon Secours Health System, which partners with a network of congregations to regularly host a primary care clinic for the uninsured in their neighborhoods in Richmond, VA. The webinar also explores how faith-based organizations are successfully embracing “shared use” of their facilities and programs to help create and sustain healthy congregations and communities.
Speakers include staff from the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Community Health Services at Bon Secours Richmond Health System, and ChangeLab Solutions.
