Navigating Local Housing Strategies
A series of video conversations
Access to safe, stable, affordable housing sets the stage for health and prosperity. Evidence shows that housing stability is critical for children’s health, well-being, and academic performance. But the ongoing housing affordability crisis across the United States means that many families — especially BIPOC households and others who face marginalization — are experiencing hardships related to housing.
In 2021, ChangeLab Solutions launched the Housing Solutions Collaborative (HSC), a peer-learning cohort of eight teams from across the country who have built partnerships and knowledge to advance housing equity in their communities. During their time together, the teams made progress on issues from zoning and affordable housing production to emergency rental assistance and anti-displacement policies.
