Establishing a Farm-to-School Program

Farm-to-school programs connect schools with regional or local farms, offering a variety of benefits to everyone involved.

Programs typically include creating farm-fresh salad bars and serving local foods in the cafeteria; introducing educational opportunities such as planting school gardens, cooking demonstrations, and farm tours; and establishing waste management programs, like composting.
