In a new journal article in Psychiatric Services, ChangeLab Solutions' Elizabeth Olson, Alexis Etow, Christine Camilleri, Heather Wong, and their co-authors have published the results from their review of licensing requirements for licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, and licensed marriage and family therapists in all 50 US states and the District of Columbia.
Their research is part of a larger effort to identify policy levers that states can use to increase the supply of master’s-level providers of children's behavioral health services. Increasing the availability of providers could help address inequities experienced by children and adolescents in the US mental health system.
