Warning Labels on Sugary Drinks Webinar
Promoting informed choices
Requiring safety warnings on sugary drinks to inform consumers of the harmful health impact of consuming those products is an emerging policy strategy that has potential to change the prevalence of chronic and preventable diseases including diabetes among youth and adults.
The presenters discuss their experience in developing SB 1000, groundbreaking legislation introduced in the California Senate in 2014. Presenters also discuss the impact of this policy on Latino communities, as well as available resources for moving this strategy forward in your state or community.
Presenters include staff from ChangeLab Solutions, the California Center for Public Health Advocacy, the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California, and the Center for Science in the Public Interest.
