Model State PTA Childhood Obesity Prevention Resolution
A framework for PTAs
The National Parent Teacher Association (PTA), a nonprofit volunteer organization, advocates for the education and well-being of children across the nation.
State chapters of the PTA, like the National PTA, often take policy positions in the form of resolutions on important children’s issues. Resolutions do not create permanent law but can be a useful policy tool, demonstrating support for a particular issue and encouraging other agencies to take action.
This Model State PTA Resolution provides a model framework for state (and local) PTAs that want to take a stance for student health by supporting school polices aimed at preventing childhood obesity.
