The USDA released two memos directing states to improve access to fresh water and milk in school lunch meal services as part of the implementation of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. Two publications from NPLAN, Drinking Water Access in Schools  and Water Access in Schools: Model Wellness Policy Language, are available to assist schools and community advocates with attaining these goals.
