ChangeLab Solutions' Healthy Planning program works to engage public health advocates throughout the country in planning decision-making processes. We develop tools for training advocates in the relationship between the built environment and public health, and provide technical assistance for creating and implementing land use policies that support healthier communities.

Our staff is able to provide a deep understanding of land use, economic development, and redevelopment processes, policies, and strategies. We are available for one-on-one consultations to help you find people, information, and other resources to create healthier environments. Please submit a request for technical assistance through our contact form.

Our program trains advocates and practitioners on a wide variety of topics related to public health and the built environment. Hands-on workshops and presentations allow planners, public health advocates, elected officials, local government staff, business owners, and citizen activists to learn how the tools of land use and economic development can reduce health disparities and create more livable communities. See ChangeLab Solutions' Workshop and Training Catalog for detailed descriptions of offerings, including healthy & sustainable neighborhood design, creating opportunities for physical activity, and improving food systems & healthy food access. If you're interested in scheduling a workshop or training, please contact us for more information.
